Sandra L. Hofstadler was driving a pickup truck when she swerved around a bus that was picking up school children in Virginia Beach, jumped a curb, and hit the four. When she got out of her car, witnesses report that she was having a hard time walking, and they immediately took her keys for fear that she would try and drive away.
Another witness rushed to the aid of a young boy, giving him CPR until the paramedics arrived on the scene. Police issued a field sobriety test and arrested Hofstadler for driving while intoxicated.
