As personal injury attorneys we have seen nearly every type of accident. From car crashes to accidents with pedestrians we have represented too many people who were injured due to the carelessness of drivers.
To this end we have compiled some safety tips for drivers and families. We would like to see the people of Virginia enjoy all fall has to offer while staying safe and avoiding some of the seasons hazards.
- Driving Safety- Fall driving can be more dangerous than other times of the year. As the sun shifts, windshield glare increases and occurs at different times of the day. In addition, fall leaves may at times cover the roadways. This can lead to many problems to include slippery driving conditions and hidden potholes and other road hazards.
- Family Safety- Piles of leaves are the perfect play place for children. However, when piles accumulate in roadways children are at risk of being tempted into the street. Parents, please watch children closely. Drivers, be aware the children too are drawn out in the cooler weather and may be present on and near all roads and side streets.
- Home Safety- Gutter cleaning, tree trimming and other fall chores tend to have homeowners in precarious positions. Please be sure that ladders are on flat ground and that you have help nearby if you should fall.
