Mr. Mayo was born in Portsmouth, Virginia, April 18, 1945. He was admitted to the Virginia Bar in 1970. He received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University in 1966, and his law degree from the University of Richmond.
He is a member of the Norfolk and Portsmouth, American, and Virginia State Bar Associations. He served as president of the Virginia State Bar in 1983-1984. He is a fellow of the Virginia Law Foundation and the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association.
