Zach Tavss Maiden

~
When I was growing up, I would hear my mom and grandfather tell stories around the dinner table, and I thought it was so incredible that they were able to help people who really needed it.

Zach Tavss Maiden grew up with attorneys in the family, and recalls how he had the intention to be an attorney himself even as a young child, becoming even more passionate about it as the years went by. Mr. Maiden is a member of the Virginia State Bar and is licensed to practice throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in Spanish Language and Literature in 2022 with a minor in Public Law and Policy from Hampden-Sydney College. He earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Tulane University Law School in New Orleans, Louisiana in May of 2025. He also worked at the Immigration Rights Clinic while at Tulane.

“It’s a privilege to be the ‘calm in the storm,’ to be someone people can rely on when they don’t know where else to go.”

Mr. Maiden lives in Virginia Beach just two streets down from the house in which he was raised. He loves to cook, go to the beach, and, most of all, spend time with family and friends.

It’s hard to put into words how fortunate I feel to be at Tavss Fletcher. My grandfather, my mom, and all the attorneys here are amazing mentors, and I feel so privileged to be a part of this warm and welcoming practice.

Frequently asked questions

When should I contact a lawyer about a legal issue?

The sooner, the better. Many issues clients face only become more challenging with the passage of time. Even if you are unsure whether you need an attorney, an early consultation can help you understand your rights, options, and best path forward.

Is there a deadline for filing my legal claim?

In many cases, yes. The law often imposes strict deadlines (known as statutes of limitations) for filing certain claims. These deadlines vary depending on the type of matter being pursued, and missing them can even prevent you from bringing a claim altogether.

What should I bring to an initial consultation?

You should bring any documents related to your matter, including contracts, court documents, notices, or a timeline of relevant events. It is also often helpful to bring a list of questions and/or concerns. That being said, if you are unsure what is important, part of my role is to help you identify the facts and documentation that matter most.
