Whether it’s guiding a client through a difficult situation, protecting their rights, or helping them find clarity in complex legal matters, there’s something incredibly rewarding about being the person they trust to help them move forward.

Annamarie E. Pagel was admitted to the Virginia State Bar in 2014 and has been practicing with this firm since January 2022. She specializes in family law matters, which include divorce, custody, and child support. She is certified by the Supreme Court of Virginia as a Guardian ad litem, representing the best interests of children in various divorce and custody matters.

Mrs. Pagel was born in Vallejo, California and grew up moving between California, Hawaii, and Arizona. She graduated from Randolph Macon Women’s College in Lynchburg, Virginia in 2011 with Honors and Summa cum laude in History. During college she interned at Congresswoman Gabrielle Gifford’s District Office in Tucson, Arizona. She obtained her Juris Doctor from Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota in 2014.

Practicing as an attorney constantly challenges me and keeps me learning, but most importantly, it allows me to genuinely help people every day.

Mrs. Pagel is a member of the Virginia State Bar and Virginia Beach Bar Association, and serves as a committee member of the Virginia Beach Bar Association Juvenile and Domestic Relations Courts Improvement Committee. She has also been named in the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys—Top 10 under 40. Outside of work, she sits on the board of the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, and is Past Executive Vice President of the Junior League of Norfolk-Virginia Beach, a volunteer organization that focuses on children’s literacy and women’s health.

She currently resides in Norfolk, Virginia with her husband and son.

Frequently asked questions

1. How much is your retainer?

It depends. Every case is different and we base our retainers on the time we think your case will take. Retainer quotes are always given during the initial consultation.

2. How long will an uncontested divorce take?

Once both parties complete the statutory separation period, agree, and file all paperwork on time, the court usually finalizes an uncontested divorce in about 60 to 90 days.

3. Do I need an attorney in juvenile court?

YES! Attorneys not only provide expertise in the specific legal matter at hand, but have intimate knowledge of each city, courthouse, and judges, and will know how best to handle your matter depending on the city, court, and judge.
