Sentencing Delayed in Deadly Norfolk Drunk Driving Accident

According to the Virginia prosecutor working with the state on the case against Craig Watson, a now convicted drunk driver, when Watson left a party at a Virginia Beach hotel he was more than three times over the legal limit in Virginia. Police confirmed that blood taken after the accident showed that Watson was significantly over the legal limit of .08 percent blood alcohol content.  

After leaving the party and heading home, Watson reached speeds of over 100 mph. While attempting to make a turn at a high rate of speed, Watson lost control of his vehicle on E. Indian River Road, hit a guardrail and several trees, and slammed into a front porch. Unfortunately, Watson was not alone at the time of the crash. 

Three Die in Terrible Norfolk Drunk Driving Crash

Watson was seriously injured during the accident, as were two other passengers. Three others were not as fortunate. Karnell W. Faulkner, Marquita S. Walker and Paris Shorter all died from injuries sustained during the crash. 

Recently, Watson was convicted of three counts of aggravated involuntary manslaughter. The jury that found him guilty of the crimes suggested at 25 year sentence. A recent sentencing hearing, however, was continued and Watson has not yet been sentenced for his role in the tragic accident.
