Fatal Virginia Beach Car Accident Claims Life of Teen

Virginia Beach car accident involving a single vehicle claimed the life of one teen and left another injured after the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed. The incident took place at approximately 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, February 14, 2013, on Shore Drive.

 

According to local police, the driver of a 2003 Honda S2000 was speeding along Shore Drive when he lost control of his vehicle and went off the road, striking several trees. The driver has been identified as 19-year-old Stephen B. Clark, Jr.

 

Unfortunately, his 18-year-old passenger lost his life due to injuries sustained in the accident. He has been identified as 18-year-old Gregory B. Welch.

 

Mr. Clark was also injured as a result of the crash. However, details concerning his injuries were not immediately made known.

 

Afternoon eastbound commuters were inconvenienced for nearly five hours as crews shutdown Shore Drive between Fort Story and Kendall Drive to investigate the accident scene.

 

The fatal Virginia Beach car accident remains under investigation by local authorities. It has yet to be determined if any charges will be filed. Both teens were reportedly wearing seat belts at the time of the collision.
